Seriously! These corkscrew-style bobby pins are a GAME CHANGER for anyone with long, thick, heavy hair! Previously, no amount of bobby-pinning ever kept my hair in place or a bun from slowly sliding down from the top of my head. Messy buns? I invented those. Because straight, silky hair and “up-dos” do not coexist in my universe. On my wedding day, the hair dresser was at his whit’s end trying to get my hair to stay up long enough to attach my veil. In the end, my hair did hold, after he used half a can of hairspray and no less than 75 bobby pins. (You think I’m kidding?)So, for most of my life, I just never wore my hair up. Then one day I spotted these spiral hair pins in a beauty supply store and was intrigued. The sales girl happened to be standing nearby while I gawked at them and explained how they worked. For less than $6 (and a money back guarantee) I was willing to give it a try.Oh! Mylanta!I literally only need a ponytail holder and 2 or 3 of these “bun twists”, and my hair is set for life. Well, for as long as I’m willing to keep them in, at least. It’s a FAST hairstyle too! I pull my hair into a tight ponytail, wrap my hair around the base of the ponytail a few times, and while holding the bun with one hand I twist the spiral pin so it catches some of the hair in the bun and some of the hair under the bun. I use the same technique on the opposite side of the bun, and use one more spiral pin in the back of the bun for good measure. Removing the pin is easy - just twist each one in the opposite direction as you inserted them, and take your time so you don’t damage your hair.I gifted these to both of my daughters who have long, thick hair, and they love them too. When I went to buy more for a gift, I discovered the shop no longer carried them, so I was happy to find them here on Amazon. Photo proof included of said thick hair and after a long day at work (with the hair looking pretty much exactly like it did when I left the house that morning.)I bought these because some of the reviews mentioned they don’t cause headaches like elastics do. I haven’t worn a bun in such a long time because I get headaches really quickly. I’m happy to report that I can wear a bun with these and I’m headache free all day! They are quite sturdy and seem to be great quality. My two year old also likes to play with them so they double as an interesting little toy, but probably not for a child that puts things in their mouth. The only downfall is I haven’t quite mastered the perfect bun because my hair is very thick and has layers. It’s not really the spin pins’ fault though, there’s just a slight learning curve with these.I’ve already raved about these to a few friends and family members, so overall I would definitely recommend. Before, I used to use a dozen bobby pins and a couple hair ties just to put my long, thick hair into a decent bun. Now, I use two of these bin twists and that's it! My hair is up and out of my face all day! It has a sturdy hold, an easy application and removal, and doesn't pull as many hairs out as the standard hair tie and bobby pins do! Thank you Kitsch! After taking a minute to follow the instructions, I used only 2 and no ponytail was required. As thin as my hair is, most bun clips don't stay in that long. These really fit the bill. They look nice, too. These are awesome. I put my hair in a ponytail, make a bun, then twist these in. They comfortably hold my hair all day. I was worried they'd get tangled, but they don't. They're also great for a quick bun in my 3 year old daughters hair. They hold way sturdier than 20 bobby pins every could and are much more comfortable. You can get a million cheap ones of these for $5, but they’re sharp and the twists on them are much wider. These ones have nice rounded ends, and the twists are smaller, so I think they hold my hair better.I have hip length hair and can hold my hair in a bun with *one* of these. Although three is better. My hair doesn’t move, they don’t hurt my head, and they twozzle in and out without pulling my hair or snagging.Tengo mucho pelo, chino y siempre rompo las ligas. Las horquillas no me lastiman el cabello y mantienen mi peinado en su lugar. Muy recomendable.Llegaron en excelente estado y me han durado mucho, no se rompen, buena calidad.Easy to use and does hold your bun in place for hours. However, does not work while exercising :D
