Back in 1980 in the Midwest I had given my notice at work, to the owners of my rental home, and was committed to coming to the Bay Area of California. Heading out to dinner with my friends, nostalgia overcame me and I prayed, "How can I leave such wonderful friends?" At that moment, for the first time, I heard, Scott McKenzie sing, "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...you're gonna meet some gentle people there." Aside from the skies parting followed by lightening bolts, this seemed to be a pretty clear answer. So, in 2016, I'm retired and can return to wearing flowers in my hair with no corporate overlords to tell me differently. When I wear these beautiful flowers with perfect toothed clips that don't fall from my fine hair, strangers inevitably smile, compliment me, and ask about the flowers. I tell them my story and we aren't strangers any more. The symbolism is about peace and love, and that's what they spread. These are inexpensive, amazing quality for the price, and would be good for party favors, for hula or other Island dancers, for costumes, or to meet gentle people.
