These are very cute, very sturdy and well made but unfortunately, they won't hold thin hair for very long. Years ago I used something like this and they were perfect. Unfortunately, my hair seems to have thinned in my "later" years and these clips no longer do the trick.I try to tease my hair to make it a little thicker and the clip works for awhile but sadly as time goes by, the clip starts to slip. I'm not sure what the solution is but if you have thin hair, look for something else. I'm still looking for another solution.With the money and seems sturdy. Exactly what i was looking for.The barrette isn't flimsy. It's just not constructed for thin/fine hair. It requires either an Increase the Width or Number of Teeth to provide a Secure Hold as advertised.Having my hair up in a pony tail usually ends up giving me a headache. I have midwaist length hair. These somehow keeps them up without weighing me down. I don't think they ll work well for very thick hair- a couple of mine did snap while trying to close them.They workI purchased these clips to style my granddaughter's hair. They are sturdy and easy to clip in her hair. At 2.5 inches, they are the perfect size for her small head.aLove these hair clips--I now have red, blue and green ones as well as tortoiseshell. They were kinda tight on my thick red hair but now that I've lost some hair they fit fine. Might be too big if you have really fine hairMade of hard resin with no flexibility so you have to be careful handling the clips. Original order was returned and replaced because the teeth on two of the combs broke inside the bubble wrap envelope during shipping. Purchased them to hold back chin length bob and they do the job, but not hopeful they are a long -term solution.Not for those with thick hair. Gifted to a friend with less hair.
