Leave in overnight, makes a perfect Marcel wave!I have become the kitchen hair stylist for my mom during this pandemic. These worker perfect with her short hair. She had purchased a cap to wear for when she goes to her appointments, but decided not to wear it after I styled her hair with these.Sure you can do finger waves with gel and crusty hair, but I like them to look a little softer. And I have really struggled with making them look good and beautiful and soft and authentic. So I wanted to get my hands on some aluminum clips. I needed to double these up to get the waves to the back. I also have shoulder length hair and didn't have the waves go all the way down. I used them around the crown. The looked great. I did them on damp hair, be cautious of hair dryers, these babies heat up. I included a customer image of how mine turned out. I'm considering getting the 6 inch clips as well for when I want to go further along the crown and farther down the sides.I thought the clips would be like the old ones my mother used to have; but these are extremely light and do not grab the hair. It seems that the teeth are too short. In essence, I cannot use them to make waves. I gave them 2 stars because perhaps someone with very fine hair would have better results; my hair is thick and plentiful. I rather use the regular clips and use two to make a wave. Regular clips grab hair while these do not. The manufacturer needs to increase the length of the teeth and also make them straight rather than so curvy because they do not follow the shape of an adult's head.Did not work on my hairI used these clips to create the wave look hairstyle of the 1920's for a party. They worked very well and were very easy to use! They came packaged well without any damage. Very happy with this purchase!I have shopped at Amazon for years and bought literally hundreds of items...this one is the worst EVER. The clips are very poor quality and once you open them, the spring doesn't even spring them back together to actually grip the hair. Additionally, the teeth are too short and are very brittle, making them very easy to bend and break. I had to give it one star because NO STARS are not an option...I guess they can get one star for decent shipping time. I'm heading over to eBay to see if I can find some "real" wave clips that I'll actually be able to make use of.Although these wave clamps may work for some, I felt bad that they did not work for me. I could tell immediately that they are VERY lightweight and that I would not be successful getting the waves I am looking for. Had to return them all. I am still looking for a much heavier aluminum wave clamp.
