Replacing nice assortment but the container is chinceyBuying a selection of 150 hair-pin clips would have seemed silly to me a few years ago. Now, prices of specialty hardware in the local stores (if they have it) continues to rise to the point of absurdity. Consider, also, the cost of gas and wasted time running to the store every time an odd-ball fastener is needed.I began to notice that Amazon was offering a lot of stainless steel and other fasteners in quantity. Comparing the price per piece to local stores proved that buying in quantity online was really an excellent value. The same applies to these hair pins. The quality is very good and they appear to be the same stock found in hardware stores. The price per piece is pennies, and I don't lose an hour hunting parts locally. I dare say that I have enough hair-pins to last a good long while. The only challenge is keeping organized so the needed hardware is ready to hand. The only problem I experienced was a damaged case because Amazon shipped the hardware in an envelope but the vendor took care of that issue.I wanted some spare cotter pins before winter hits. This is a nice collection from small to large. 2 or 3 of which will work with snowblower shear pins. The pins are well made but the case is a little under sized for this many pins. The dividers popped out causing the pins to mix up a bit.The pins are as good or better than what you'd spend a ton of money on at the hardware store. No complaints there. However, the box is a different story. It was not packed anywhere near good enough to stop such a cheaply made box from being damaged in shipping. The dividers were broken and the pins were jumbled together. Now I have to organize 300 cotter pins. Yay...Also, don't put tape over paper labels. It tears the label off.I got this for the farm and our 2 tractors. I am always needing a pin or losing one somewhere out in the field. The assortment is really nice because the tractors are two different sizes and use different size hook ups. Great addition to garage.I'm not one to need cotter pins on a daily basis. However, when I recently ran into a problem with my snowblower in the middle of clearing snow after a big storm, this set saved me from being stranded. It also helped me again shortly thereafter when a wheelbarrow wheel came loose because of a rusted cotter pin. I replaced it with one from this set got me back to work again. Assuming my string of bad luck has ended, I may not go into this set of cotter pins again for a while. But when I do need one, I'll be so happy that I have this set of pins ready to go!I have a camper trailer with a weight distribution hitch and a sway control bar. All of those require cotter pins! I got this kit cause it has such a good assortment of pin sizes! I keep it in my trailer so that I can replace pins as needed when I’m on the road. If you need pins and are afraid of running out, this kit is for you!Need some cotter keys for a project , these fit bill and seem to be holding up good.
